An Interview With…

JESSICA MARHOEFER, Design Consultant

What path brought you to Wedgewood Building Company?
I grew up watching my grandpa build furniture in his woodshop.  From there my love of design grew.  I went on to Ball State University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.  I owned my own design company for over 5 years until I started with Wedgewood June of 2017.

What do you have a knack for?
I have a knack for listening to client’s needs and wants when designing their dream home and pride myself in designing a home greater than they could have hoped for.  I am known for creating a personalized design for each homeowner.

What’s the one problem you are best at solving for your clients?
My clients say that I always keep them within their budget.  I am great at knowing where to put your money in the design selections to get your biggest impact.

What are you passionate about?
I am really passionate about interior design in general.  I love to stay up on new trends within the building and design industry.  I really enjoy the building journey I get to take with the homeowners, from prints to closing, and the entire process in between.

What do you really enjoy personally? What can’t you stop talking about?
My son.  I’m a proud new mom.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?
At home with my family.  I love to spend a weekend doing home improvement projects, watching football, being outside, and trying new restaurants.

Where did you grow up and why aren’t you there now?
I grew up in the small town of Brookville, IN.  I moved to Carmel after college and have been here ever since.  I am more of a “big city” girl than a small town girl.

Are there any volunteer activities you love?
I volunteer with a number of different local fundraisers.

What awards or accomplishments are you proud of?
A few of my nursery designs were featured on the Little Peanut online magazine as a featured designer.

What would be impossible for you to give up?
My family…… and coffee.
